WHY ME? As an audio and journalist and podcast producer, I have all the skills to create a great wedding speech. And as an editor, I have tons of practice helping other people express their ideas in this format. My friends and family know this well; I've helped friends write wedding speeches, given speeches of my own and even officiated my friends' wedding! I've been to dozens of weddings over the years and I've heard great speeches, but also...meh ones (exhibit A). The givers of those meh speeches are always from people who undoubtedly love the bride or groom, but they just don't have the experience and expertise I do: how to take an idea and convey it through storytelling in a genuine way. 

THE PACKAGE 
We meet three times for 45 minutes each. I advise booking your first session at least 3 months before the wedding date.

Session 1: brainstorm & plan
- Pre-work: I send you a half-page worksheet. Fill it out and bring it to the meeting
- I ask you questions to draw out insights and anecdotes about your loved one
- I share tips and tricks for getting going in the writing process

Session 2: draft & revise
- Pre-work: You send me a draft (at any stage) and I make notes before the meeting
- We discuss problem areas and places you’re struggling
- I share tricks of the trade and how to “write for the ear”

Session 3: polish & practice
- You bring a near-final draft to the meeting
- We make tweaks and revisions to ensure that the speech flows and it feels true to you
- You practice and I offer feedback on your delivery
